Two soldiers and a civilian working under the military administration lost their lives in a fatal accident at Peki-Dzake in the Volta region on Saturday.

The military officers identified as Corporal Patrick Akosa, Private Hayford Amewu and Francis Adjabeng reportedly died on the spot when a vehicle they were travelling collided with a commercial Benz bus with registration number GW 9683 W.

The three were said to be stationed at the Military base-workshop at Burma Camp.

The Peki District commander, DSP Jonas Agbevam, informed GraphicOnline that the accident occurred at about 6:30 pm when the three in a military hearse with registration number 14 GA 96 were returning from a funeral at Kpando.

The commander said on reaching the stretch between Peki Awudome junction and Peki Senior High on the Eastern corridor road, the Benz bus from Accra heading to Nkwanta, while avoiding a rough road, entered the lane of the military vehicle being driven by Adjabeng with speed, resulting in the crash.

Some of the passengers who sustained various degree of injuries were sent to the Peki hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Benz bus, Samuel Akufo, is said to be in critical condition.

The bodies had been deposited at the Peki Morgue at the time of filing this report.
