The people of Eastern Region has the whole country shouting “Kwahu ooo Kwahu!” whenever Easter festive occasion is around the corner.
Majority of the people in the country spend their Easter Holidays with the people of Kwahu at the mountains.
The people of Sekondi-Takoradi also has what most people don’t know yet. They call it “Yesu Asor”, meaning “Christ has risen”. This Easter festival is celebrated by the people from the Twincity of Ghana, Sekondi-Takoradi during Easter festive seasons.
The celebrations starts on Weekends and ends on the Easter Monday where all the beaches in the Twincity is filled up with activities. Unlike Kwahu Easter festival occasion, there is paragliding and street jams but when you go to the Western Region’s Twincity capital, Sekondi-Takoradi, there is more than celebrations.
Their Easter festive occasion is packed with street carnival with the climax of Sekondi-Takoradi Artists homecoming performances. This celebrations is the next big Easter celebrations apart from the popular Kwahu Easter celebrations.

This year’s “Yesu Asor” Easter celebrations will bring back Western Region’s finest artists, the Fanti Rap God, Kofi Kinaata, Ayesem the Koti hitmaker and many more with the duo making the billboard headlines.
