PHD, a multinational media company, has been named Media Network of the Year by Campaign Magazine. According to Campaign’s citation, “PHD set the gold standard during its silver anniversary, with striking work and a new-business bonanza providing ample cause for celebration”.
Referring to PHD’s performance, the citation said, “at a time when media faces intense disruption and unprecedented scrutiny, PHD stands out as a beacon of quality”.
The Worldwide chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PHD, Mr Mike Cooper, said, “PHD’s challenger positioning and focus on strategic communications planning and creative thinking has really set us apart this year. This point of difference is now starting to have the same draw globally as it has done in the UK over the last decade.”
Mr Cooper was excited that big brands were recognising the value in their global communications planning expertise that had led to winning global buying assignments too, saying “2015 should be remembered as the tipping point, when buying-focused clients bought planning”.
Earlier in October 2015, RECMA, the only market research company that evaluates digital and media agencies worldwide, indicated in their latest Pitch Cycle report that PHD outperformed all other agency networks in international pitches in 2015.
Commenting on the Network of the Year award, the Managing Director and CEO of PHD’s Ghana, Mr Bright Ladzekpo, said “it’s been a great year locally and globally, and so this accolade is truly befitting our run, thanks especially to our existing clients who either retained or expanded our scope of work”.
The network, he added, had been winning awards for great work but the latest represented a very proud and inspiring moment for the business in Ghana, “due to my humble but unique contribution to our network’s entry proposal documents, while on an exchange programme at the global office in London a couple of months ago.”
PHD is known globally as an innovator in communications planning and buying across broadcast, print, digital, mobile, social and emerging media.
Founded in London in 1990 as the first planning-led media agency, PHD is built on a culture of thought leadership, innovation and creativity, with a philosophy of finding a better way.
