Pochettino provides positive update

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has provided a big injury update on Harry Kane after he suffered an ankle injury in the first-leg clash with Man City.

The Englishman suffered a very serious looking injury and needed assistance to even make it down the tunnel.

As a result, he missed both the games against Huddersfield and Manchester City.

Though, with how serious the injury looked, it was expected that Kane would miss the rest of the season.

That would be a huge blow for Tottenham with a place in the Champions League final and a top-four berth still to play for.

With Kane having scored 24 goals in all competitions, it was thought the Londoners could struggle if he did not return this season.

However, they may not be without him for as long as first thought according to Mauricio Pochettino.

Could Harry Kane return before the end of the season?

That is because the Argentine boss has suggested Kane’s season might not actually be over.

According to Pochettino, Spurs are not willing to rule out a return before the end of the season.

While they are ‘not optimistic’, ‘all is possible’ with Harry Kane.

‘Still, we cannot say anything,’ Pochetino explained, as quoted by the Mail.

‘We are going to assess him day-by-day, we’ll see.

‘We’re not optimistic but you know Harry Kane and with Harry Kane all is possible.

‘We’re not going to say he won’t play again or not, we are going to assess him day-by-day.’
