Chelsea blow it vs Burnley
Burnley have a history of spoiling the mood at Chelsea.
Sean Dyche’s team did it once again on Monday night in the Premier League as they held the Blues to a 2-2 draw.
It was a terrible night for the Blues which included Callum Hudson-Odoi’s ruptured Achilles injury, Maurizio Sarri being sent off, and Gonzalo Higuain throwing a strop on the bench.
On the pitch, Chelsea had to come from behind after Jeff Hendrick’s early opener.
Goals from N’Golo Kante and Higuain turned the scoreline in the Blues’ favour. But Ashley Barnes scored in the 24th minute, and the visitors held on for a point.
Man United can help guarantee Arsenal’s Champions League place
After Monday’s result, the race for the top four is as follows.
3. Tottenham. 67 points. 34 games.
4. Chelsea. 67 points. 35 games.
5. Arsenal. 66 points. 34 games.
6. Manchester United. 66 points. 34 games.
Man United, who face Man City at Old Trafford on Wednesday, will then take on Chelsea at home on Sunday.
If Man United beat Chelsea, Arsenal’s top four hopes will be in their own hands.
On the basis Chelsea lose at Old Trafford, Arsenal will be guaranteed a top four finish if they win all their remaining games.
If Chelsea fail to win at Old Trafford, their maximum points tally is 74.
We’re on 66. So three wins would guarantee finishing above them.
Two wins and two draws and we go to our (currently 4 goals superior) goal difference.
It’s still on. BELIEVE.
