Dope and multi-talented singer from the legendry group VVIP, Abdul Hamid Ibrahim known in showbiz as Zeal has finally revealed the secret behind the exit of the former group member Emmanuel Ababio known as Promzy and the entry of the grand papa of hiplife Reggie Rockstone to the group.
The singer Zeal, who was answering a question about what brought about the change of name from VIP to VVIP on Oilcitytoday exclusive Drive Show with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central in Cape Coast said, his brother Promzy wanted to be a Solo artiste which they could not stop him, he was matured and grown up to take his own decisions, and they couldn’t force him to do what he doesn’t want to do.
He said, ” there was no fight between us, Promzy came up with an idea that they all release individual solo songs to prove to people that they are capable of doing different things. I never liked the idea but Promzy decided to continue with his personal projects’’
Talking about Reggie Rockstone’s entry to the group, Zeal said, ”I was very surprised when Reggie wanted to join the group, so we told him to give us some time to think about it because we had different ways of doing things. After a number of meetings with Prodigal, we later decided to let Reggie Rockstone join the group’’.
He refuted misconceptions that Reggie should had settled the difference they had with Promzy before joining the group, but made it clear that, there was no differences to be settled.
He continued, ‘’I knew Reggye was a big fan of VIP, we had performed in a number of shows in Ghana and abroad. He came into the group with a lot of energy, and it has really helped us to maintain our brand’.
Zeal noted that, its true we came from Nima but VIP was never a violent group, our message is to let people understand that we can have great role models from the hood.
