The ten finalists of the Stanbic Money App Challenge have begun showcasing their work for the ultimate prize.
In an interactive review session, the finalists include Easy Finance, Finance Now, FinTimes, Kasanoma, Kudify, Money Matrix, Sikapong, Stanbic Saver, Y2K and Zealous demonstrated how their various apps built for Android and IOS platforms would work.
The Stanbic Money App Challenge is aimed at engaging programmers and software teams to develop innovative financial education tools to help users, especially the youth, in the management of their finances.
Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mawuko Afadzinu, said the programme which was launched in March 2016 would help bring the geniuses of the youth to the fore.
She explained the Stanbic money app “will make it possible for people to live fuller and more complete lives using technology.”
“It will also enable people to live better, run their business better, have a greater fulfilment in their lives and generally have a better handle and grip of their personal finances, over their financial lives” he said.
Mr. Afadzinu used the opportunity to urge finalists to see themselves as winners since their work can impact positively on the society.
The competition will end on August 24, 2016, and final prizes would be presented on the 9th of September, 2016.
The winner of the competition takes home GHȼ10,000, the second takes home GHȼ5,000 with the third taking home GHȼ3,000 with other souvenirs from Stanbic Bank Ghana.
