DJ Massive emerged winner of the first edition of Hitz FM’s Hottest DJ reality show.
He was declared winner at the station’s ‘Turn up Party’ at the Junction Mall at Nungua barrier on the Christmas eve, December 24.
The forecourt of the Junction Mall was packed with supporters of the contestants cheering on as they displayed splendid Disc jockeying skills.
The programme, which started at 8pm also saw performances from Andy Dosty, Mr. Haglah, DJ Gunshot and DJ Wobete. They took turns to thrill the audience to spectacular mixes till the wee hours of Friday December 25, 2015.
DJ Massive, born Fredrick Dey, who could not hold back his excitement said, “I knew I was going to win because I portrayed all the skills of a good DJ.”
He added that, “This is what I’ve always wanted to do. I have managed to put myself out there and I’m coming in very hot.”
The former student of Chemu Secondary School, who read General Arts and the first of five children, encouraged young and upcoming DJs to learn and be focused.
DJ Massive beat 32 other hopefuls to the grand prize of a DJ Setup, a tablet from Franko Trading Enterprise, a cash price of GHc2,400 and a one-year contract with Hitz FM.
The first and second runners-up were DJ MJ and DJ Raennie respectively.
“The ‘Hottest DJ’ will be an annual event,” Mark Okraku Mantey, Programmes Director for Hitz FM said.
Mark also promised that next year’s will be bigger and more exciting.
MCs for the night were Mercury Quaye, Mic Gizo and Dr. Pounds.
The first edition of the ‘Hottest DJ’ was sponsored by Prestige Commodities, Franko Trading Enterprise, Super Malt, Aloe Vera King and Samsung Ghana and powered by your entertainment station Hitz 103.9 FM.
